ONDA at 17th Plinius Conference

ONDA, through Serco Italia, is the main sponsor of the 17th Plinius Conference on Mediterranean Risks, organized in the framework of the EGU (European Geosciences Union) events, and taking place near Frascati, Italy, on 18–21 October 2022.

The event represents an interdisciplinary meeting for debating the current state of knowledge of Mediterranean risks in the context of climate change. The discussion will be focusing on prediction, diagnosis, monitoring, assessment and definition of weather extremes and hydro-geological effects, impacts on sectors such as natural resources, agriculture, health and society. Additionally, adaptation capacity and preservation strategies for natural and cultural heritage at risk will be discussed and addressed with a multi-sectorial approach.

Scientific experts in the fields of meteorology, hydrology, geomorphology, sociology, engineering, cultural heritage conservation, and also governmental or private risk management actors will be gathered for creating a fruitful environment.

In this context, we will also be promoting the current Horizon 2020 projects which make use of the ONDA platform, namely CALLISTO7SHIELDRapidAI4EO and WQeMS
