EOPEN on ONDA Showcase

The EOPEN (opEn interOperable Platform for unified access and analysis of Earth observatioN data) project, successfully ended in October 2020, exploits ONDA for Sentinel data access and, more generally, it provides a platform to develop and deliver EO data rich services removing the need and cost to create and maintain an infrastructure for systematically processing user defined workflows.
More details on the EOPEN project and all relevant links have now been published on the ONDA Showcase.

ONDA contributes to award assigned to Flanders Department of Agriculture and Fisheries

We are very pleased to announce that the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries of Flanders has won the Belgium eGOV awards in the category Innovation thanks to the support provided by the ONDA CAP monitoring service, with a project named “Use of GEO AI for crop detection and automatic interpretation of aerial photos”.
In June 2020 the European Commission, the Joint Research Centre and ESA have assigned to ONDA the task to support both the Department of Agricultural and Fisheries [...]

Launch of new CLEOPE service

We are happy to announce the launch of the new CLEOPE (CLoud Earth Observation Processing Environment) service for our users.
CLEOPE is an interactive web-based platform of EO products discovery, manipulation and visualisation via Jupyter Notebooks providing users with an integrated development environment where to create their own applications on the Cloud.
As an added value, CLEOPE offers a collection of pre-installed libraries and template notebooks supported by a Python 3 kernel to enhance the first-time user experience with the ONDA [...]

Launch of the new Managed ONDA Storage (MOST) service

ONDA is launching the new “Managed ONDA Storage (MOST)” service, which allows users to optimize the performance in accessing ONDA data, reduce costs and improve productivity.
This new ONDA service meets the expectations of those users requiring access to a massive volume of data.
MOST offers a customized data access system and optimized storage as well as processing solutions to maintain the level of performance required, independently from the data type: free and open (Copernicus Data and Information), sensitive (licence protected, [...]

H2020 projects with ONDA

Two  projects funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme, EOPEN and MOSES, have joined forces with ONDA to implement a use case for the purpose of improving water management strategies.
The EOPEN platform aims to support both non-expert and expert users access and exploit Copernicus data through a federated platform framework, allowing for big data analytics.
EOPEN is agnostic regarding data access and cloud provider, still it makes use of ONDA. Also, an ONDA Virtual Machine is [...]

ONDA for the H2020 CALLISTO project

We are proud to announce that ONDA will be employed in the context of the H2020 Project CALLISTO, for which the Grant Agreement was recently signed by the European Commission.
The CALLISTO project – Copernicus Artificial Intelligence (AI) Services and data fusion with other distributed data sources and processing at the edge to support DIAS and HPC infrastructures –, led by Serco Italia, responds to the H2020-SPACE-2020 call on the “Big data technologies and Artificial Intelligence for Copernicus” topic.
Driven by [...]

Results of project developed by CNR-IREA using the ONDA platform published on renowned journal

A public paper on the surface deformation analysis project developed by CNR-IREA – the Institute for Electromagnetic Sensing of the Environment (IREA) of the National Research Council (CNR) of Italy – has been published on the peer-reviewed open access journal Remote Sensing.
The article presents an advanced processing pipeline for the generation of continental scale differential synthetic aperture radar (DInSAR) deformation time series.
The solution is based on the parallel small baseline subset (P-SBAS) approach and on the joint exploitation of Sentinel-1 [...]

ONDA at the ESA EO Φ-WEEK 2020

This year’s ESA EO Φ-WEEK digital event (28 September – 02 October 2020) focuses on innovation in Earth Observation, and showcases the latest achievements in Earth Observation science, technology and applications.
ONDA is proud to participate in the Digital Twin Earth discussion by bringing our DIAS experience and contribution in a dedicated session on 30 September between 11:30-13:30 CEST.
